About
“I’ve been contemplating painting as a language that allows me to visualize and compose imaginary places. Painting as a tool to sort out an archeology of memory, in which colors, shapes, people, places, fragments of images and of sound inhabiting me accumulate and pile up with the passage of time. I’m interested in the resulting tension of composition, in the way color, shapes and textures combined eventually allude to borders and territories or into singular elements that may become autonomous and project themselves into space. “
Bio
Kika Goldstein is a visual artist based between São Paulo and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Faculdade Santa Marcelina. Her work is featured in the collection of MCSP - Museu da Cidade de São Paulo and MUREO – Museu Regional de Olinda, Pernambuco.
She has presented solo exhibitions at Galeria Arte FASAN in Belo Horizonte, Centro de Exposições de Arte Prof José Ismael in Guarulhos, Casagaleria oficina de arte – Loly Demercian, and Galeria Vértice, all located in São Paulo in 2020. Kika was selected for the 16th Salão de Arte Contemporânea de Guarulhos in 2020, São Paulo. She participated in Casa Tato 1 and 4 in 2021 and 2020.
Kika has been part of art fairs such as Arte RIO with Galeria Arte FASAN in 2022-23, Feira PARTE in 2019 with Galeria Tato, and with COLETIVO 2 and 1 in 2016. Her international group exhibitions include “Annihilation,” interpreting the performance “Magical Curves” by Brazilian artist Rubiane Maia in Shanghai, China, “Hawa” and “Colors of Gaza” with Galeri Puteh in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, “Malaysian’s Last Tigers” at Taksu Gallery, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, “Arte Mônaco” with Gallery Universalis in 2014, “Art in Capital” at Grand Palais, Paris, France, “Brasilianische Kunstler” at Galerie D’art Lúcia Hinz, Alsdorf, Germany, and “Art Open” in Eschweiler, Germany, in 2010.
